The wines of DOW represent some of the highest quality Ports in the entirety of the upper Douro Valley, after all they’ve been at it for more than 200 years. The vintage port is sourced from the estate’s two finest vineyards, Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta de Senhora da Ribeira. Made only in the vintages these wines show their true colors afters years or even decades of bottle age. 2000 was a ripe vintage as this bottling shows. The wine is opaque and spicy with dense notes of blackberry, cassis, and licorice, building a palate of incredible weight and depth. Ever so slightly raisinated with superb concentration and balance. This is classically structured Dow Port entering its peak drinking window. Exquisite. Drink through 2030.
