A blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier, the La Germine from Duclaux is an absolute powerhouse of a wine. 2015 was a killer vintage for the Northern Rhone and this bottling is jam packed with the soaring plum, blackberry, and mulberry fruit character that abounds in the steep slopes of the region. Tightly knit and layered with notes of bacon fat, licorice root, crushed black pepper, and spice. The wine was aged in neutral barrel (20% new). There is incredible balance and purity to this wine and it should drink well over the next decade.
